RYA Interactive
Cardiff Yachting Company offers the following courses through the RYA Interactive Learning Scheme.

- Essential Navigation & Seamanship
Learning through this process allows you to progress at your pace, and times which suits you.
You can buy the courses through PayPal see payment buttons after each course description or you can order the course by completing the form at the bottom of the page – shortly after a Revolut Bank payment link will be emailed to you – this will allow you to use a bank or credit card.
PERSONAL DATA MANAGEMENT
Your email address will form part of the logon process to the RYA Interactive site, all the information and relevant links will be emailed to you – you will be able to access the Interactive Course directly – we hope to complete this within 24 hours of payment. Learning Materials for the courses are posted on the next available posting day to your home address by Royal Mail.
To enable access to your online course we need to share some of your personal data with the RYA via your user profile in http://www.ryainteractive.org/ . This learning management website is hosted and maintained by a third party called Rise Up, who will not use your personal information for any reason other than enabling your course.
Your name and email address will be entered on www.ryainteractive.org in order to create your user account. On your first access to the site, you will be asked to enter your address and date of birth. You will have access to the site for one year in order to complete your online course. During this period, your personal information will be held on the website by Rise Up and be available to this training centre and the RYA for the purpose of managing your course.
Instructional support will be provided by this training centre for a period of 12 months from the date of your course booking. On completion of your course, your name, email, date of birth and address will be transferred to the RYA’s central database for the purpose of recording details of the course and any certification you gain as a result of it. This information allows the RYA to record your certification, to update any records they may already hold about you or your qualifications and to verify your certificate if required. After one year from the date of your enrolment on a course, your user account will be removed from www.ryainteractive.org. Full details of how the RYA will deal with your personal information will be displayed when you first access ww.ryainteractive.org. For the duration of your access to the site, your data will be held in accordance with the RYA Interactive Data Policy, Terms and Conditions.

RYA Interactive VHF Marine Radio (SRC) Course – £70.00
The Short Range Certificate is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using International channels. A radio is an important piece of safety equipment on board and it is vital to understand the correct procedures. Unnecessary transmissions could block out a Mayday distress call.
Course fee includes postage and packing of the RYA SRCP VHF Handbook to you.
At the end of the course you will have to complete the RYA SRC VHF Assessment with Cardiff Yacht Company – the RYA Fee for this is £70.00.
RYA Interactive Essential Navigation and Seamanship – £99.00
This offers a great introduction to navigation and safety awareness for new or inexperienced skippers and crew, and those wanting to refresh their skills.
In fact it’s for anyone interested in sailing, motor boating, sea angling or diving, and works well in complementing our on-the-water training, such as the Powerboat Level 2, Start Yachting and Helmsman courses. Have a look at the link below for a greater understanding.
